My Newborn Favorites
Olivia is almost two months old and there are several items that have become staples in our everyday routine. Every baby is different, so these must haves might not work for everyone, but some of these items have been lifesavers for us! Some items on my list have been perfect since Olivia was born and others were purchased over the last seven weeks. I also have to give a big shout out to the GoodBuy Gear website. It’s a site that lets you shop for baby items that are open box, gently used or even brand new at a fraction of the cost. We’ve gotten so many wonderful deals on GoodBuy Gear that I recommend it to anyone looking for savings.
Our Must Haves
MagneticMe Clothing – This brand offers magnetic closure clothing for kids. It is so much easier than working with snaps or even zippers when changing your newborn. They have a sister company called SimplyMagnetic Me that also offers solid print clothing. I love the footies and the rompers.
Dr. Brown Bottles – Olivia seems to have a bit of colic and reflux, so the narrow and wide Dr. Brown anti colic bottles have been great for her. She has the least amount of spit up when she drinks from these bottles. They come with multiple pieces to the bottle to help reduce gas, but you can choose to use them or remove them if needed.
Uppababy Vista V2 Stroller – Hands down this is one of our favorite items. We originally purchased another stroller but later in the pregnancy, we visited BuyBuyBaby and tested out the Uppababy Vista V2 Stroller. It is so smooth, has a ton of nice features and it has the ability to convert into a double stroller for two kids in the future. We purchased our stroller through Amazon Warehouse and was able to get it for a fantastic deal.
Nuna PIPA rx Carseat – We love our carseat so much! It’s lightweight and has features that make a lot of sense. We purchased an adapter so the carseat could fit on the Uppababy stroller.
Tubby Todd Bath Products – I am obsessed with Tubby Todd bath products. The lavender and rosemary body wash + lotion are gentle and effective for Olivia’s skin. They smell incredible and Olivia loves taking a bath when we use these products. I also really like the all over ointment if she has a bit of dry skin.
FreshlyPicked Mini Diaper Bag II – I received this diaper bag during my baby shower from my cousin Lauren. It is absolutely essential for days out. We pack this bag into our stroller all the time and it is the perfect size to contain clothes, diapers, a bottle and formula, and more! The company sells multiple sizes and styles of diaper bags for any mom.
Angelcare Baby Bath Support – This bathtub has been perfect for our baby girl. It is small and fits nicely in our tub and it is reclined back for comfort.
Fisher-Price Luminate Bassinet – Our bassinet is high tech without the snoo price tag. I love that it offers settings for vibration, music and lights. It also connects to a phone app so you can easily switch the settings before you place your baby into the bassinet.
Snuggle Me Organic Lounger – This has been our lifesaver for nap time. Olivia takes a lot of supervised naps in her lounger and our dog Lily loves to sneak inside the lounger to snuggle as well!
Hatch Restore – We own the adult Hatch light but I’m sure the kid Hatch Rest is just as nice. We use the hatch light as a nightlight for early morning feedings as well as an alarm in the morning. Before Olivia was born I would use the Hatch light for sleep sounds and as a reading light.
Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advanced – Another lifesaver for us. We primarily formula feed Olivia and this formula maker is fantastic. You simply add the formula and water to the machine, press the settings you want and it makes the perfect formula bottle each time.
Baby Brezza One Step Sterilizer Dryer Advanced – We use this every day to sterilize and dry our baby botttles. We can easily go through 8 bottles in a day so it is really convenient to wash them and then set them in the machine to sterilize overnight. It has 30 min, 45 min and 60 min options.
